You might associate lock picking tools with criminal activity, but these are actually essential equipment for locksmiths. Unlocking a locking device without its proper key is a very important skill taught to locksmiths, as this requires a thorough knowledge of the various internal components of the lock, and a very delicate maneuvering of the picking tool in order to trigger the unlocking of the same, without causing any damage to the lock. This is by no means an easy task, as even the slightest amount of misdirected force might impair the lock, rendering it unfit for its original key.
